'Made in Türkiye' Labeled Machines on Global Display in Istanbul

The International Wood Processing Machines, Cutting Tools, Hand Tools Fair, WoodTech, officially opened its doors on October 12, 2024, at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul. Organized by RX Tüyap in collaboration with the Woodworking Machinery Industrialist Association (AİMSAD) along with the support of the Woodworking Machinery Industrialist Association (EUMABOIS), the event will showcase cutting-edge machinery of 375 companies and company representatives from Türkiye and abroad over the course of five days, attracting close to 25,000 visitors, including 4,000 international attendees. The trade show is open until October 16 at 17:00.

The woodworking machinery industry, which recorded exports of $75 million in the first eight months of this year, continues its steady growth. The industry has consistently maintained a trade surplus since 2017, and during this period, increased its export-import coverage ratio to 155%. The 37th edition of WoodTech brings together over 375 exhibiting companies and company representatives, providing them with a global stage to showcase the latest technological advancements in the sector. The fair, organized by RX Tüyap in collaboration with AİMSAD and EUMABOIS, is considered the largest gathering in its field across the Eurasian region.

The fair expects to welcome approximately 25,000 visitors, including 4,000 international professionals, with key buyers coming from strategic regions such as the Middle East, Europe, the Balkans, North Africa, and Central Asia. Among the visiting countries are critical trade partners, including the USA, Russia, Germany, Poland, Italy, Algeria, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.

“Reflecting the Strength of Our Industry on Both a Local and Global Scale”
Berkan Öner, General Manager of RX Tüyap, commented:  "WoodTech is not just a trade platform; it is a meeting point where new opportunities are discovered, business partnerships are cultivated, and the industry's growth momentum accelerates. Each technology and solution presented here reflects the strength of our industry on both a local and global scale. As part of this fair, we are showcasing Türkiye's leadership and vision in woodworking technologies on the world stage. I have no doubt that, with the passion, dedication, and creative thinking of our participants, we will set production standards of the future. I thank everyone who has contributed to this synergy as we work together towards a brighter tomorrow.

“AİMSAD's Focus is on Domestic Production and Export”
AİMSAD Chairman İsmet Toktaş emphasized the woodworking machinery sector's focus on production, employment, and exports. Toktaş stated:  "There is prevailing uncertainty worldwide, especially in our main export market, Europe. We are making every effort to position ourselves in a way that minimizes the impact on our exports during this period. WoodTech plays a key role in this regard. Today, the woodworking machinery sector is hosting global giants at the largest meeting of its kind in Eurasia. Our primary goal for 2024 is to maintain the $160 million export figure we achieved last year. In the upcoming period, our main objective will be to strengthen our position in existing markets and, subsequently, to explore new alternative markets with all our resources. I extend my gratitude to RX Tüyap management and all our stakeholders for successfully organizing such a major event.
