The Countdown to WoodTech 2024 Has Begun!

The 37th edition of WoodTech, Eurasia’s largest woodworking technologies exhibition, is set to take place at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul between October 12-16, 2024. This highly anticipated trade event will showcase a comprehensive range of machinery and technologies related to woodworking, forest industries, surface treatments, assembly, packaging, and many more , providing an essential business platform for professionals across the industry.

Organized by RX Tüyap in collaboration with the Woodworking Machinery Industrialist Association (AİMSAD) and supported by the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS), WoodTech 2024 will welcome industry professionals from across the globe to the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul. As the largest gathering of the woodworking machinery industry in the Eurasian region, WoodTech will feature an extensive array of products and technologies, ranging from woodworking, forestry, logging, and sawmill machinery to surface treatment, packaging solutions, hand tools, conveyors, warehousing systems, and cutting-edge woodworking technologies.

This year’s edition will bring together over 300 exhibiting companies and company representatives from Türkiye and abroad, offering unparalleled opportunities to visitors coming from the Middle East, Europe, and the Balkans. Export-Import Coverage Ratio Increases in Turkish Woodworking Machinery Industry
The woodworking machinery industry completed the first 8 months of the year with numbers of 210 million 44 thousand dollars in production, 85 million 68 thousand dollars in exports and of 54 million 378 thousand dollars in imports. In addition, the export-import coverage ratio was 156 percent in the same period, while the foreign trade balance was approximately 31 million dollars. The woodworking machinery sector, which wants to expand and diversify its export markets, made the most exports to Russia in the first 8 months of the year with 7 million 33 thousand dollars. Regarding export figures, the United States ranked second with $3 million 777 thousand and Bulgaria ranked third with $3 million 527 thousand. These countries were followed by Kosovo, Iraq, Algeria, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Georgia and the United Kingdom. Also, it was seen that the decline in import rates in the sector, which started in 2017, continued this year. The sector, which increased its average export value per kilogram to $7.4, has increased five times the Türkiye’s average in this field.
