Rotary Vane Dry Running Compressor

A rotary vane dry-running compressor is a positive displacement machine that compresses air (or gas) without oil lubrication. Inside the cylindrical housing, a rotor with multiple sliding vanes rotates off-center. As the rotor spins, centrifugal force pushes the vanes outward against the chamber walls, creating variable volumes that trap and compress air. Since it’s “dry-running,” no oil is used inside the compression chamber—making it clean, low-maintenance, and suitable for industries needing oil-free air like woodworking, food, medical, or packaging. Downside: higher wear on vanes and lower efficiency compared to lubricated versions.
