The WoodTech Fair reached TL 2.5 billion in exports with 30 percent growth

This year, the WoodTech Fair, the largest specialized fair of the woodworking machinery industry in Eurasia, attracted a total of 22,381 visitors from 98 countries. Opening its doors for the 36th time at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul between October 19-23, 2023 the fair achieved 30 percent growth compared to 2022.  

The WoodTech Fair, a key event that is backed by the international experience of RX Tüyap and the industrial expertise and unifying power of the Woodworking Machinery Industrialists Association (AIMSAD), reached a trade volume of TL 2.5 billion. Leading companies of the industry from Türkiye and abroad participated in the fair.  

More than 320 companies participated
RX Tüyap's General Manager Berkan Öner states that the fair grew by 30 percent compared to 2022 and explains: "The 36th edition of the fair took place with the participation of more than 320 companies and company representatives, exhibiting nearly 1000 machines during the event. 22,381 visitors from 98 countries including Türkiye visited the fair and 3,881 of them were international visitors. Purchasing delegates which consisted of more than 300 professionals, including international VIPs, also came to Istanbul for the fair. "We aim to increase both the number of international visitors and our trade volume of the fair in 2024, which will take place between October, 12-16."

The wood processing industry has a high potential
İsmet Toktaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AIMSAD, says: "WoodTech makes a great contribution to the industry's export figures. We predict that the industry, which achieved USD 152 million in exports last year, will reach USD 170 million in exports by the end of 2023. The international visitors great interest in the WoodTech also supports this view. "Türkiye, with its high potential, can become a global leader in the woodworking machinery industry." 
During the fair which took place across 10 halls, participants exhibited their machinery and equipment for forest, logging and timber products; wood processing machinery and equipment; surface treatment machinery and equipment; packaging machinery and equipment; conveyors, handling and storage equipment; cutting tools, fastening tools and other equipment; dust collection, ventilation and filtration systems; drying ovens; impregnation systems; energy boilers as well as industrial software. 

The next meeting of the WoodTech Fair, which brings together local and international professionals from the woodworking industry, will be held at its usual address, Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul, between October 12-16, 2024.
